I Wonder If He Cries
I wonder if he cries
If he lets the tears slither down his cheeks
Washing away his deceptive mask
Leaving only his vulnerable human face
I wonder if he screams
Deep in the recesses of his mind
If the scream ricochets around in his head
For hours and hours
I wonder if he ever notices
The anguish he causes
The anger, sorrow, hate
The love
I wonder if he ever leaves
That sheltered box
That cold, silent little shell
He calls reality
I wonder if he flies
Spreads his thin wings to catch the wind
Until he's high above everything that ever held him back
To soar among the clouds
