Panting tongue and wagging tail
A nose that never seems to fail
Tracking rabbits and groundhogs too
And catching birds midair out of the blue
Eating and eating until there is no food left over
And hearing humans nearby attempting to keep their composure
They run and greet you and give you a big kiss
For you were someone they truly miss
