sickness
Your body aches
The doctors give you drugs but nothing works
You scream for a cure
But the money organizations have raised did nothing
No amount of money could cure what you have
No amount of support could get you where you want to be
Family and friends stop by and see how you are doing
Balloons and gifts fill the room so you can't see dull, white cell your living in
All your dreams crushed
How can you become an astronaut when you can't even walk to the bathroom
How can you be a race car driver when you can't even control the TV remote
How can you even live like this
This is not what means to be human
This is not what it means to be you
You are better than that
You are stronger than all the chemo
You are invincible, cancer can't knock you down
At least that's what you try to tell yourself before reality kicks in
