In my family,
when I view the family given to me,
I see different things.
I see a pair of glasses for my older brother, shiny and polished.
I see an army medal for my oldest brother, proud and stiff.
I see a math book for my mom, with it's crisp edges, unwrinkled.
I see a cigar for my dad, calming and soothing.
And for me, I see a road, with a few potholes in front and behind me, but it's the rest of my family that will fill those potholes in.
