They told me that I would not make it
But I, being rebel, did it to defy.
So I ran, ran, ran.
Made it to doorway, doorway to freedom
and stopped. No, not by my own doing.
By those chains, holding me back.
Chains from responsibility, family, friends. Promises.
Still I broke off those chains, turned said a silent goodbye with my tears.
And ran.

The author's comments:
Sometimes we all want to run, some like the girl in the poem succeed, others don't. The chains hold them back. Be what you want to be. GOD BLESS!
