Gaining Wishes
Wishes are wishes
 They rarely come true.
You don't get what you ask,
 You receive what you do

 Nothing is gained
 By those who don't seek
 Nor by those
 Who stand by, meek

 If you want something done,
 Do it yourself
 Don't wait around
 For an offer of help.

 To do your best
 And give it your all,
 To stand back up
 After a fall

 To make wishes come true
 That's what it means
 To keep going forward
 Still chasing your dreams

 After all of the effort,
 One comes to see,
 Nothing worth receiving
 Is gotten for free.
