Dear God
Every night as I lay in bed
A silent prayer runs thru my head.
Dear God please help my mother stay strong,
And help my father admit when he is wrong.
For my sister please help dry her tears,
And help get my brother thru these hard years.
Please let my grandma makes it thru the night
And let my grandpa see the morning light.
Dear God help me to hold on to the friendships that are real,
Help me to express the emotions that I feel.
Teach me to accept the things that cannot be changed
And help me get my priorities to be rightfully rearranged
Please help me find my way in this crazy reality
While forcing me to remember my morality.
And before I close out my prayer
There is one more plea I have to share.
Dear God, please help him to find it in his heart
To forgive what’s in the past,
And to remember the love that he said would always last.
I don’t want him in my life if that’s not where he wants to be
I just want him to be happy, even if it’s not with me.
