The way you bounced up and down
when you had something to share.
And that deep look in your blue eyes
that proved to me you cared.
That sneaky little smile
you thought I didn’t see,
always gave me butterflies
‘cause it was meant for me.
Those silly analogies
could always make me laugh.
I know that I made fun of you
but I just want them back.
The look that’s on your face
when you’re strumming your guitar,
I can see you on the stage –
deep inside resides a star.
Your over exaggerations
to prove it wasn’t bad,
deep-down you know I loved them
even when I acted mad,
And when you held my hand
on the road the led to nowhere;
the way you look away
and pretended not to stare.
The blonde hair constantly cut
that I’d run my fingers through,
I would laugh sarcastically,
but I loved it on you.
The passion that you had
always drew me in;
the fact that I was the only one
who knew the you within.
Even your goodbye –
the one that brings me pain –
is carried out so perfectly
I cannot hate your name.
Never will I believe
you and I were never true.
The day will never come
I deny my love for you.

The blonde-haired, blue-eyed ones always get you....

I like that you were able rhyme and still mantain the flow that usually accompanies a free verse poem. The end seems to lose that a bit though.
