The blank page is a stage
Where the words will perform
The curtains are the boarders
And the pictures write the score

The score is the music
Set up in tight
And they will perform and perform
All through the night

The reader is the audience
Trapped with every line
As they speak in rhythm
In certain time

The words take a break
When they are through
Then they are thrown in the trash
Not knowing what to do

But don’t be sad
Because in this you will find
The players will rearrange themselves
And you can read it another time

This is dedicated to my friend who likes theater. She gave me this idea.
