Beginning, Middle, And End: A Love Story
Bruised, battered, beaten:
 The condition of my heart
How did it get this way?
 Where do I start?
 The beginning was beautiful
 The start of something new
like a flower in the sun
 The relationship grew
 Sweet, passionate kisses
 holding hands in the park
 Spending summers together
 sharing secrets in the dark
 All of a sudden
 feelings got stronger
 three words were spoken
 and our love grew stronger
Then as soon as it started
our love came to a halt
 the trust was broken
and it was all my fault
Yet he found it in his heart
 to forgive me and stay
 I promised to be better
 and never again stray
 As days passed
 and months turned into years
 There became less smiles
 and an abundance of tears
 He would yell
 and I would scream
we were never on the same page
at least, that's how it seemed
 Promises were made
 but never kept
 expectations weren't met
 and tears were wept
