Silent cries from a child’s eyes
Are heard over the silent “whys”
Screaming for help from poverty’s chains
But no one notices the silent cries
Invisible tears stream down their face
Knowing there is a better place
A place where they may one day go
But for now they stay just in case
Just in case their lives will change
Even though it may seem strange
There will always be possibilities
That gives their hopes and dreams a range
