Forbidden Cage
Was I just a bird with a broken wing?
Was I just a songbird that couldn't sing?
Lord, help me to fly away tonight,
Don't hold me down, you don't have the right.
But, I was infatuated by the rush of your skin,
Nearly took away my conscience,
Left me in a state of sin,
Love fell over me like a summer wind,
Blew me to pieces,
Now, I've got to start again.
Broken baby bird is what I am,
You've got me locked away in your forbidden cage.
You broke loose one summer night,
Told her her tears were a beautiful sight.
Oh, but she fell for your sadist ways,
You've got her wrapped in your forbidden haze.
