Smiling Mask
i pretend to smile for those around
but all i want to do is fall to the ground
no one knows what goes on inside
and i heard it's better to push it aside
how can i ignore the pain
when there's nothing left to gain
these tears that flow so easily
 come out so unwillingly
but i keep up my little facade
so no one will see my happiness fade
who do i have left that would understand
no one will ever help me to stand
my shoulders to cry on are soaked or gone
now i have no one to lean on
so i have to wear a smiling mask
and it is such a troubling task
i dare you to take a look into my mind
you'll never know what you might find
and while you're at it, look at my heart
if you even know where to start
take your time to examine everything
 i doubt you'll forget a single thing
until then, i tell you i'm fine
even when i reach the end of my line.
