You Let Me Down
Mornings are the worst
When the cold bears down on me
Sad and scared
And unprepared
You said I would finally see
But why does it still hurt?
Death would be so sweet
To a heart so misunderstood
It isn’t fair
Please don’t stare
I can’t believe you said I would
Make it on my own two feet
You let me down
You caused the pain
You made it rain
Please just let me go
You could never know,
What’s going on with me
You could never see
Buried deep inside
A sleepless night draws tears
My heart is aching
And yours is breaking
Just take away the fear
Please don’t make me hide
Lights ablaze in my eyes
I am so much more
But you don’t see
What I wanna be
Just open the door
So they can hear my cries
