Hate Cannot Kill You
Surrounded by people who tied you and are ready to stone,
They hate you, but their problems are their own.
They see the love and the joy that you always spread.
They're jealous so they spread lies conjured in their heads.
Ready to throw stones and see you bleed blood,
You drain your tears like a mid-summer flood.
What is so wrong about spreading the message of cheer?
Your name is a name that they all love to smear.
Tossing their stones, they hit you in the eyes.
They just want to hear your girly, little cries.
The hate is too strong and the hate is too many,
But take heart, for the people that support you are plenty.
Your body lay lifeless and your wounds are still fresh.
I see shards of stone sticking out of your flesh.
The people who hate now sing an empty song
Now that your life is wasted and gone.
Your body is tied up and you are now dead
For they threw stones at your bright and happy head.
Fear not, though, for some events are so tragic
That death is overturned just like love's magic.
So, get up from your slumber and walk about with life.
I see your broken eyes light up and are not filled with strife.
Hate cannot kill you and no man can bring you down
Even if they try to strike you and your hopes, they try to drown.
Let no man stop you and do not slow up
Spread the message of love like a full force gallop.
Up from your ashes and rise like a bird
Through lies, deceit, and a hateful word.
