Spinning
Round and round and round it goes,
Spinning like a top.
Like time itself it circulates,
And it will never stop.
It's all to much for me to stand,
This spinning, swirling mess.
I fight against the whirling current.
Each time I'm fighting less.
I'm sinking in an ocean dark.
I can't hold out for long.
The water pulls me deeper still,
And sings to me its song.
It tells me to give up my fight.
It says that I will drown.
The pulling never seems to end.
I'm sinking further down.
Round and round and round it goes,
Spinning like a top.
Like time itself it circulates,
And it will never stop.
Yet each time I win the fight,
I pull myself ashore.
And once I take a look around,
I need to fight some more.
For people try to push me back,
But they are not to blame.
They also fleeing from
The water all the same.
Then someone tries to push me up,
But sees another way.
They pull my leg to get ashore,
I fall back in the spray.
Round and round and round it goes,
Spinning like a top.
Like time itself it circulates,
I want it all to stop.
