Why Did This Happen
Sometimes things happen and we don’t know why
And all we can do is sit down and cry
We accept a hug here and there
And comfort comes from everywhere
But the questions, they still haunt
And the answers lie there and taunt
We still just don’t understand
And now we can barely stand
Grief has stricken us down
And our smiles have turned to frowns
Our eyes, they bleed tears
And we are confronted with our deepest fears
We’ve lost someone close
Someone cherished by most
And now we don’t know how to deal
Or how to fight the things we feel
Someone took their own life
They couldn’t handle the world’s strife
And yet we can’t comprehend
Why they didn’t see our help there to lend
Did we do something wrong
Did we not make them feel like they belong
Did we not treat them right
We wish we could see through their sight
We wish we knew what to do now
But we are stuck asking how
How could this happen like this
There must be something we missed
But we must remember the happy times
It is okay to cry sometimes
But it is also okay to laugh as well
As we say our final farewell
