A Foolish Plan
You could say they didn’t know what they were doing (a)
Kinda odd you might say (b)
For who would rob seventeen calves (c)
Just to start their own dairy farm for pay? (b)
It’s foolish just the thought of it (a)
To have the idea that you wouldn’t be caught (b)
For two teenage boys’ plan backfired (c)
And they were left in a complicated knot (b)
But before they were caught red handed (a)
They could be heard a mile away (b)
Dancing in little circles (c)
And with joy and greed they would say: (b)
**“Because we are gonna be the richest people in town (a)
We are the brightest too (b)
We outsmarted all the *foolish farmers (c)
And took the cows who holler ‘moo’” (b)
They led the cows up the hill (a)
And the ringing bells that hung from the cows’ necks (b)
Would soon alert the sleepy town (c)
And this would all turn into a wreck (b)
But of course, the two boys had no idea (a)
That they would soon be in much trouble (b)
They couldn’t wipe their foolish grins off their faces (c)
For they were so sure their devious plan would never crumble (b)
Before they were soon caught red handed (a)
They could be heard a mile away (b)
Dancing in little circles (c)
And with joy and greed they would say: (b)
**“Because we are gonna be the richest people in town (a)
We are the brightest too (b)
We outsmarted all *foolish the farmers (c)
And took the cows who holler ‘moo’” (b)
But they were eventually caught (a)
And the farmers were returned their cows that had one day left (b)
And the case is now being forwarded to prosecutors (c)
For burglary charges and possible theft (b)
