The Most Common Misconception
The most common misconception,
Is that True Love is our protection.
When in actuality-
True Love’s formality-
Is to be hurt and get hurt once more!
For how could we ever,
Know True Love’s endeavors,
Without knowing cruel losses in it’s war?
Please—tell me how can you perceive,
What True Love—one day—will achieve,
If we never know what its’ fights were for?
So when Trust is lost…
All memories tossed…
Child—instead of crying in despair—
Smile and mend the tear,
Because it’s another lesson learned—
Even though, for now, it burns—
When bonafide True Love is found…
You shall hurt no more.
