A True Friend
My best friend told me she wants to die
The only question I ask is why
Why does she feel the way that she does
Will she ever go back to the way she was
The next day I’m torn and I feel awry
Should I tell someone she wants to die
If I speak up she’d never speak to me
She wouldn’t understand she wouldn’t see
If I stay quiet I’ll have her life on my soul
Knowing it was all under my control
It bothers me the entire day
I want to tell someone but what would I say
Either way I lose my friend
I hope someday our friendship will mend
The pain of loss invades my heart
But I know I must do my part
I get help the following day
Knowing I will have to pay
When she finds out she tries to deny
That was when she said goodbye
And though I see her all the time
She doesn’t want to be a friend of mine
I hope one day she’ll come to see
That my action were what a true friend should be

If you know someone who is thinking about commiting suicide, get help. It doesn't matter what that person will think of you afterwards. Once they realize they want to live then they'll thank you. It's better to lose a frinedship then a friend.
