"You make a living by what you get, but you make a life by what you give." -Winston Churchill

An A, a B, a C, a D,

An dreaded F, but yet no G's,

When it's an F, you always fret,

Cause they're the same as,

Not Yet Met's,

At the end of the year,

You always regret,

The choices you made,

The homework that crept,

up on you,

when you had no time,

To finish it ,

That you could find,

From the unfair teachers,

To the creaky school,

Projects on weekends,

That so were uncool,

With all the classes,

Being social with friends,

Too many assignments,

It just never ends,

They say it's almost over,

Summers coming,

No fears,

But it all starts again,

When you come back next year...

The author's comments:

This was a fun piece to write, just summing up the stress of the grades you get in school. How F's can feel like the end of the world, and how after NYM's, A's feel like you just scored the winning point for your team, sung the perfect solo at your choir concert, got a standing ovation at your drama production, and won the lottery all wrapped up in one little letter. Grades don't matter to some people, but to others, it's like life and death.
