Forgotten
Blood
Coats my fingers
Under my nails
And I scrubbed
Until my hands
Grew red and raw
But the blood wasn’t gone
The blood of lost friendships
Apologies never said
Stresses of being accepted
And sharpened words
That pierce my skin
And I wrap my hands
With bandages
Covering up the blood
Forgetting
Until the night comes
And I’m alone
And the blood returns
