She Was Autumn.

With her long auburn hair,

The color of the leaves on the trees.

Her pale skin, soft and smooth,

Like the clouds slowly rolling across the sky.

She was Autumn.

Never really warm like summer,

But lacking the chill of winter.

She hid behind loose sweaters

And warm mugs.

She was autumn…. But

As time passed the leaves died.

The clouds turned to storms.

And just as she is autumn,

She is also fall

And fall she did.

She fell into winter,

With its dead leaves and hard ground.

Her eyes became cold like the ice around her.

Not all plants can survive the winter

But if she holds on.

Maybe she will be able to bloom

Into the leaves of spring once more.

Growing into the warmth of summer.

I love the way the subject transitioned. Try and find more flowery words to give it a deeper impression
