I've started something that seemed great at first,

but now I want it to end.

The novelty has all worn off,

my love and hate have started to blend.

I'm going around in circles,

an endless rotation,

I view this horrible habit

with absolutely no admiration.

This process is killing me,

I don't know when it became this bad.

When all of this started,

I thought it was the best I'd ever had.

This long ago should have been over,

yet it continues to go on.

My enjoyment has withered away,

my happiness is completely gone.

I've made some stupid choices,

the worst one being this,

but I was too eager to begin,

the consequences were easy to miss.

I've made a deplorable mistake,

that's anything but nice,

I didn't look before I jumped,

and now I'll pay the price.

This poem is based off I dream I had, and my realization of how much the theme that dream applies to real life.
