A lady smirked in front of the devil,

Angering him beyond levels,

‘O little maiden, you must tremble before my wrath,

for I am here to put an end to your path.’

The lady’s smirk grew into a smile,

For which the devil’s fury turned into an atrocious cry,

‘O maiden don’t test me, you are destined to die’

His voice bellowed with power but was no match for her laughter,

As she went on with glee, dishonouring the reaper.

Red rings of fire appeared to adorn him,

Wings of jet black slowly caressed him.

The lady stopped, with not a tremble in her eyes.

‘O mortal, what is the secret to your endless blue skies?

People tremble with fear as they think of me,

I appear as the vicious venom in most of their dreams.

Yet here I see a mere woman,

Shadowing me with such might and glee”

The lady replied with a bold voice.

‘You can only just take my life, not my will, not my legacy,

and not my hope for a better generation of humanity.’

This is a poem that was inspired by the way human beings fiercely fight against all sorts of demonic ends. It is a poem of hope that is a reminder to all those going through a rough patch, you will rise again.
