Just A Girl

There was a girl who went to school everyday

with a bright smile and laughing with her friends,

But when you watch someone slowly fade away

you can never imagine them that way again.

She stopped making an appearance to class

and she didn't come to lunch,

As the time would gradually pass

having her gone felt like carrying a wistful hunch.

Her seat had become bypassed and deserted

chilled to the touch,

All the students could be was disconcerted

as if they cared that much.

Rumors spread as fast as the pandemic

yet nobody cared to ask the truth,

Never significant enough to become any type of polemic

it was just another abstruseness amongst the youth.

Now to other people, this may mean nothing much

as it may just be a story about a girl being isolated from the world, unseen,

However this has more meaning than common touch

considering the fact that this girl is me.
