i could shine over you and

watch as you sleep, shining

without waking you

so i could watch you in

your peaceful state and not

enrage you as she does

i wish i was the sun so

i could watch you live

vicariously under my warmth,

bringing light to your life and

casting the shadows from

beneath your eyes and

from behind your demons

i wish i was the moon so

i could peer at you from

a sliver of shadow, hiding when

you get out of control

and carefully examining

your mannerisms around everyone

including me

i wish i was a cloud so

i could change shape to

your enjoyment and bring an

elated smile to your face, a

rare occasion nowadays

because you used to lay and

watch all of me but now you don’t

i wish that you could get

out of your head and look around

look at me

i’m here

for you

but lately

it’s as if

you don’t see me

and i know

you’re going through

a lot

and i know

i probably don’t understand

much of it

but i’m here

for you

whenever you’re ready

and i don’t mean

to sound impatient

but

can you be ready soon?

it’s just that

i want to share this

life with you

i want to live vicariously

with you

not with anyone else

but with you

and only you.
