Because of You
Because of you,
I smile more often.
I cry less, laugh more,
and feel like a new person.
When all light was gone
and darkness was all I could see,
you showed up and,
somehow,
you saved me.
And now that we're engaged,
I can't wait to marry you, baby.
I can't wait to hear us pronounced Mister and Missus
or for you to hold me
and give me your kisses.
I'd never known something like this
could be so simply amazing.
And as I sit here, lazing,
just writing this poem,
thoughts of you keep me company.
Because of you,
I am home.

If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.
