love is pain.

I am not ashamed to know that love is pain,
and to do it anyway.
While suffering may be inevitable,
the greater tragedy would be to never know
the loving look in another’s eyes.
To never know the passion
beheld in a kiss,
to never feel the gentle caress
of his hand in my hair.
