Off the side,

right into the deep end.

Forgot how to swim,

i’m in over my head.

You’re the best thing in my life,

but i’m not ready for You yet.

i don’t want to hurt You,

when You’ve been nothing but wonderful.

You’re too good for me,

i will bring you down.

So in love with You,

and yet

not enough to let You go?

what’s wrong with me?

Someone help me,

someone,

please

save

me

from

myself.

i can’t hurt you. But if i don’t i’ll hurt myself.

What do i do?

i wish i knew, but i don’t.

i really don’t.

Why do You have to be so wonderful?

Relationships are never easy, but some are more difficukt than others. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself. Everything gets easier with time.

i cant relate, ive never been in a relationship, partly because I'm under 16 and partly because I'm not interested when I will be. despite my current temporary user, I'm still here und=til i leave tomorrow morning... computerless. a notebook just isn't the same to write on.

@Gone4Camp_CyaFriday_-SparrowSun
The poem is not necessarily about a being in an abusive, Stockholm syndrome-like relationship... it's more a depiction of what it feels like being in a with someone that you know isn't for you but being too afraid to let the person go. Whether that's because you're afraid of being alone, or because you don't won't to hurt this person. The I's are lowercased to show a lack of self confidence, while the You's are uppercased to display how the boy or girl sees the other through a lens of perfection, or idolization.

is this an abused girlfriend or wife idolizing her abuser?
