The Taste of A Poem

Poems,

Taste like lightning,

And thunder before it’s heard,

And bottled love,

And the ashes that rise on phoenix wings,

And the frost that burns your fingers,

In the winter light,

And the touch of stars on a clear night,

And the heat of fire,

While a blizzard burns outside,

And the hug of a loved one,

You haven’t seen in too long,

Poems,

Feel like glass and steel,

Delicate and strong,

Burning our hands on a winter day,

Freezing our palms,

On a summer night,

Shattered glass,

Or warm,

Soft silk,

A velvet pillow,

And a dog’s soft fur,

Poems,

Are the world,

Everything,

And nothing,

Brushed in golden paint,

And tucked beneath our pillows,

For us to find after waking.

This is about how poetry can impact us in larger ways than other pieces of writing, and how difficult it is to describe how poems can make us feel.

"It Will Be Good." (complicated semi-spiritual emotional story.)

"Upon his bench the pieces lay
As if an artwork on display
Of gears and hands
And wire-thin bands
That glisten in dim candle play." -Janice T., Clockwork[love that poem, dont know why, im not steampunk]

that was beattiful. tho i disagree with the sidenote. writing fiction s=esspecailly makes me feel a lot but so does reading(trust me, I've written and read a lot of fiction.)
