Silent drive

Screech of garage door

Clogs clicking

Door swings open

Welcoming “Hello”

Dogs holler and howl

Fresh smell of perfume and hot lattes

Tired twinkling eyes

Scrubs with wrinkles and folds

Making vein like paths

Through worn burgundy fabrics

Her arms mold around me

Creating a perfect warm fit

Her perfume getting stronger

Dark soft strands

brush my blushed cheeks

Her arms unravel to reveal

Her kind face

Sweet smile

Yet she’s the strongest person

I know.
