I waited

I anticipated

Held back and hung fire

Sat tight and waited

I gazed at the starry sky

The forbidden galaxies

How the stars hold secrets

Marvelled at the chalky moon

And waited

The wanted never seems to happen

I felt the burdens of history topple

How the air was thin and dangerous

I touched the stars in my dreams

I felt the magic exploding

Stayed awake for the entire night

Just to see the wholesome sight

And waited

I love and hate then hesitate

Dream and smile then fall back to sleep

I want to believe the sunshine

So I let the magic happen

Because I waited

The author's comments:

Everything beautiful comes after waiting. Even if it's long, it only happens if you wait. Just at the right time, it appears every blue moon. Wait for your next blue moon.

The universe must be a teenage girl. So much darkness, so many stars.
