interwoven
what is the difference
between inventing a love story
and living one?
i wouldn't know.
i've only done the former.
they say inventing a love story
doesn't make it the truth.
that it's not all flowers
and kisses
and holding hands in the hallways.
that it's also late night fights
and t-shirts soaked with tears
and worries about how to pay the bills.
but in a way
i want all of that too.
love is an endless depth
of trust and safety
because then you have someone
to apologize to
to comfort and dry your tears
to help you when you're just short
someone you can steal hoodies from
someone who can kiss you in the rain
someone who can leave notes in your back pocket
just to make you smile.
