i want to be wanted

I want to be a marigold in season
Or perhaps a plum, ripe and begging to be plucked away
I want to be the waters of an island, its inhabitants grateful for the riches I bring
I want to be your "one and only”
I want to be your Tomorrow, because everyone looks forward to Tomorrow
Everyone wants Tomorrow
But I can only be what I am Now
And I’m trapped in Then

This is a piece that I did while in a workshop a while back. The prompt was to combine all the prompts we had worked on during the session. I wanted to focus on love and my relationship to it, how I struggle with feelings of insecurity and feeling as though I'm unlovable. I want to be wanted by someone, even if it's for a moment.
