The Flower in the Rain
The power this flower has, but is a coward so it waits.
It waits in the dark
waiting for a spark to light up this path from the past.
The past is filled with trauma
and the drama it has gone through.
Rain has poured down causing the roots to come out of the ground,
they’re destroyed.
Everything this flower ever was is gone.
Surely a damsel in distress
with no rest.
The flower wants to flee from the cycle,
the cycle it's been stuck in.
The rain comes down harder and harder.
Eventually, the flower flows down the hill
it once was grounded at.
The roots, the foundation, gone.
The rain was gone, the sun came out
and now the flower was stranded,
left alone,
wishing it was back home.
But there is no home,
it's destroyed.
The flower's home is now gone,
the ground torn up,
the grass, gone.
Sitting, waiting for the rain to come back,
and it does.
It comes to destroy the flower,
piece by piece,
petal by petal.
