Happiness
My parents always dreamed of America, I’ll be happy once I move to America they said
They worked for hours, days, months, years all toward one goal of coming to America since they were a little kid
All that had work every decision made all geared toward one goal
I’ll be happy once I get to America they said but that wasn’t the case
I’ll be once I get a higher paying job, the one right now pays too little, I didn’t come to America for this
I’ll be happy when I get a promotion I don’t want to be stuck working 10 hours a day
I’ve only got promoted a few times it could be better
I’ll be happy once I get enough money to send you to a good college, I don’t want my kids education to be a waste
I’ll be happy once you become successful, I don’t want all this to be for nothing
I’ll be happy once I retire this job is too much
I’ll be happy later I don’t have enough to be happy right now

It’s personal to me because this is the mindset that many parents like mine have leading them to work towards filling a never ending void to get happiness.
