Slender wicker stick with the feather of

a rooster attached tightly,

Held in hands,

It ran through a youthful mind,

Every feathered duster in the family,

Was once an animal,

Crowing echoed to pairs of tender ears,

Once dead but sang.

The author's comments:

Every Cantonese kids were once terrified about getting pork double-braised with wicker stick.

@ Hey, thank you for the encouragement! And side notes; in my home country, a feather duster is obtained from either a hen or rooster and attaches to a wicker stick. Its a common item in many Cantonese families, and are often used to discipline disobedient kids… Pork double braised with wicker stick is like a slang for that!
