ode to Atlantic Ridge, a provider
o friend who forever gives more than it takes,
o friend who forever grows.
o foe of yours be the ice cold sea,
in depths where no one knows.
the heat you bring provides us lands,
to live, to love, to die.
the heat you bring consumes us all,
in graves beneath, we lie.
the blood of youths should burn, they say,
for a purpose of some sort.
but the blood of olds run dry, i say,
from yonder pole to the north.
your blood runs through the kingdom thrones,
the kingdoms above and below.
o friend who forever gives more than it takes,
o friend who forever grows.
