Poem: {Once in a blue moon}
Once in a blue moon
I'd hear a familiar melody echo in the distance
and my body would tense up:
I'd sing along to the song,
taken aback by the fact that I still
remember most of the lyrics.
Each and every beat would bring back
memories that I once held dear to my heart.
Those memories I chose to bury deep
At the back of my mind,
Hoping that they'll never resurface
but they did
And here I am now,
Singing along, teary-eyed.
I once let go of bits and pieces
Of hopes and dreams:
I had knowingly given up
the very moment I let the wind blow everything far away in the distance, never to be found.
Yet here I am now,
Holding bits and pieces
Of an unfinished puzzle,
I am reminded
Of everything
That could have been
