twenty thousand

handguns and rifles
shotguns and blood
who are we
but sitting ducks
students of
parkland and robb
sandy hook and columbine
and so many more
going to school
just to leave their mothers with
our prayers and wishes
second amendment
defending the right
to kill and slaughter
Our young and bright
twenty thousand passed
this year alone
yet nothing has been done
why do we stand around
and keep waiting
just for twenty thousand more?
