The Unfamiliar Holiday Season
I hear the bells ringing,
I open my door to carolers singing,
I go along, hanging the lights on the tree
But it doesn’t feel familiar to me
The ornaments remain the same, the stockings unchanged
Snow falls to the ground, yet just doesn’t seem the same
This new cold pierces my face,
A harsh break from a once warm embrace
I guess things must change as we age
But once, didn’t we all pray it would all remain the same
