brighter than the sun
my dear, i cannot stand to adore you from afar
i am quite fond of your features much to your dismay
your grey, silken hair covers part of your marvelous face
my heart burns and it aches
for how could such beauty desire to hide away?
the stars whisper and gossip
they bleed with envy and flare,
but their galaxies fail to captivate me
rather, your secret yet gentle glances reveal outsiders to see
the longing as i stare.
in my dreams, i am bold
i am able to caress your tender hand
our gravitational pull exceeds its bounds,
and as i pull you close we exit the world around
we intertwine, we are one, we band.
if time permits, on the next solar eclipse
i dare to confess,
“my dearest, moon
you shine the brightest out of all beings within this galactic room
my affections for you have always been timeless.”
