Ode to a Femur
Femur you're as strong as concrete yet you still carry me along.
Through life and death, we walk.
With you still there as everything else has given up.
Yet you're still sharp and pristine,
Living through it all.
As I have fallen yet you still carry me.
Up and down I'm still trekking through it all.
With you still there.
From the day I was born to the day I die, you will be there.
The rough texture under my load-bearing feet pressed with sharp stones but you're still here.
Once that fateful day comes to heaven I have walked.
I made my journey, completed my task, standing at the pearly gates, and said to myself I have arrived.
