The Little Orange Man
It’s 2:37 and the orange man drinks from a bottle
Replenish
Rehydrate
Refuel is his motto.
It’s 2:48 and as he drinks
The little orange man begins to turn pink.
He looks down at his arms
confused
Because his bottle says
“Contains no Fruit Juice.”
Its 2:57 and again he feels strange
He sees his whole body starting to change.
Lighting has struck and so has the rain,
Around him is an angry red hurricane.
It’s 3:05
The storm continues to brew.
And slowly the man starts to feel blue.

I wrote this piece in my creative writing class and was struggling to come up with ideas that had a deeper meaning. I was staring blankly at my Gatorade bottle and saw a little orange man on the back, hence the name of this poem. This poem is more of an abstract piece meant to be fun and lighthearted, and it can even be considered a riddle as readers try to guess what it is about!
