Craters
The moon's craters from afar,
Look insignificant,
Like nothing at all,
Yet they are deep and oh so cold,
Let me find your craters,
I’ll bring soil and seeds,
So I can plant gardens in your scars,
And give you all the love you need.

I wrote this about someone I care deeply about going through something difficult. As they spoke to me about it, all I could think about was how much I wanted to just fix all of it for them. I thought about the moon and realized how small the craters looked from all the way down here, and how big they must be up there. When I had a chance to sit down with paper and pen, I wrote this.
