First Day at the Gym
Walking in, I was nervous.
Metal clanking,
machines whirring,
beasts grunting.
music blaring,
Who were these people, twice the size of me?
I feel nothing but intimidation,
as I approach my station.
Picking up the weights,
my legs couldn't help but shake.
Looking around,
I feel everyone's glaring eyes piercing my skin,
like dozens of tiny daggers.
I turn up my music, to block out the noise
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Vision blurry, Mind foggy
I'm losing track of time and reps
But the barbarian next to me is still pushing
So I must go on,
Muscles aching, sweat dripping
My body is shutting down
I can't seem to breathe
The air is dense with musk
Water,
I need Water!
