"Girl That Bob!!!" -SL

You spent all day picking up fine glitter

On hands and knees with tweezers

They fell off our sparkly dresses

Which we had promised we wouldn’t wear

You held us even then

With a smile on your wrinkled shallow face

You only ever smiled when I was a kid

I see you know in the ground

In the casket we laid down our glitter

Glitter over the coffin and on your sides

Putting us in your memory from those gold flakes

I laid a rose then sprinkled soft glitter

As a reminder that you were good

A great grandpa to me

I looked at you that day and saw your frail frame

I smiled and poured in more glitter

I sat in service with tears on cheeks of potential glitter

Running down my young face

A flag was lowered and your casket closed

Along with the casket my heart broke

A wish I had put more glitter in your life

And I wish that glitter wasn’t our last goodbye
