Do You Feel It?
Do you feel it?
Guilt weighs you down
The wind whispers in your tired ear
As you start to drown
Do you feel it?
Exhaustion grabs your wrist to pull you
Like the longest roots on a tree
Have you come too far to start anew?
Do you feel it?
The cold creeping in
After the warm summer has gone and left
You try to cover it with a grin
But you cannot hide forever
Do you feel it?
The graceful wind howls your name
Begging you to lay down
To let the winter engulf you
Do you feel it?
You bow your head
Not wanting to understand
That the golden throne before you is built on lies.
Do you feel it?
You keep your eyes closed
To stay blind to the truth
Until someone took off your heavy blindfold
your eyes were hurt, not used to the sun
But over time it will get better.
