A Poem Describing Poetry
Poetry is the words on a page
That put your feelings in words
They can heal you and they could break you
You write and write till your hands bleed
But in the end you still don't feel clean
Every word is a new cut
Leaving its mark for time to come
But to some words don't matter
Because in the end
Poetry is just words
That rhyme with no meaning
But to others they mean everything
In hopes that someone will hear
The words they've written on the page

This poem was written as a quick write in class, on how poetry means different things to others. That to some it could mean nothing and is confusing but to some it means everything.
